IT Support & Data Specialist

Metropolitan Pipe & Supply is a wholesale plumbing and pipe distributor serving Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. We're hiring an IT Support & Data Specialist to join our IT team, reporting to the Director of IT.

The IT Support & Data Specialist keeps day-to-day technology running for our team. You'll be the first point of contact for hands-on help with computers, devices, printers, and applications, and you'll support our ERP system through data entry, maintenance, and reporting. Based full-time at our Somerville headquarters, you'll support on-site staff along with remote users and colleagues at our other branch locations.

What You'll Do

End-User & Help Desk Support (~60%)

• Serve as the first point of contact for end users, helping with everyday technical needs — printing, connectivity, accounts, and general how-to questions
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and business-application issues; escalate or route more complex requests to the appropriate team
• Support desktops, laptops, printers (including label and barcode printers), peripherals, mobile devices, and warehouse/driver handhelds
• Set up, configure, and deploy new workstations and peripherals, and install and update software
• Handle account setup, password resets, MFA enrollment, and user onboarding and offboarding
• Support a hybrid Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environment, including Outlook, Office applications, and Adobe Acrobat
• Provide basic phone-system support, such as voicemail setup and password resets
• Provide remote support to users at branch locations and working remotely
• Assist with IT projects, rollouts, and system upgrades as directed
• Log and document support requests and resolutions; maintain IT hardware inventory and coordinate repairs and warranty service with vendors
• Occasional hands-on/physical work is expected — desk moves, running cabling, installing access points, and similar directed tasks
