Network Engineer / DICOM Routing EngineerOverview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer / DICOM Routing Engineer to support and optimize healthcare imaging infrastructure with a strong emphasis on DataFirst DICOM routing, secure healthcare data exchange, and cloud-based architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DataFirst, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), TLS-secured DICOM communications, and site-to-site VPN deployments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and support DataFirst DICOM routing environments.
• Troubleshoot DICOM routing, image delivery, connectivity, and interoperability issues.
• Configure and maintain TLS certificates, secure DICOM communications, and encryption protocols.
• Design, implement, and support site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, routing, NAT, and network security policies.
• Manage healthcare imaging integrations including PACS, RIS, VNA, and modalities.
• Support cloud infrastructure and networking within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop automation and operational tools using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Monitor system performance and ensure reliability, security, and compliance.

QualificationsRequired

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, healthcare IT, or medical imaging.
• Strong hands-on experience with DataFirst DICOM routing (highly preferred).
• Deep understanding of DICOM networking, routing workflows, and healthcare interoperability.
• Experience with TLS certificate management, secure DICOM communications, and VPN technologies.
• Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, and IPsec VPNs.
• Experience administering Linux systems and scripting with Python or Bash.

Preferred

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking and infrastructure.
• Experience integrating PACS, RIS, VNA, and imaging modalities.
• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, and healthcare interoperability standards.
• CCNA, CCNP, Google Cloud, or related certifications.

Candidates with direct production experience supporting DataFirst DICOM routing environments, TLS-secured healthcare data exchange, and VPN connectivity will be strongly preferred.

Pay: $72,750.44 - $100,613.43 per year
