Swingtech Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Web Developer / UI/UX Specialist to support the enhancement, maintenance, usability, and accessibility of web-based training platforms and learning management systems supporting federal training programs.
This role blends web development, user interface support, user experience improvement, accessibility, and platform enhancement responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable supporting user-facing web functionality, improving navigation and usability, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with instructional design, QA, accessibility, and technical teams. This is not intended to be a pure graphic design role or a senior architect role; it is a practical web/UI/UX role focused on improving the learner and administrator experience within digital training systems.
The role aligns with the SOO’s focus on QSEP operations, maintenance, enhancement, user support, accessibility, and an easy-to-use integrated training website. The SOO specifically emphasizes QSEP availability, usability, system functionality, user support, reporting, and continued enhancement of the learning platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development, enhancement, and maintenance of user-facing web functionality for training platforms and learning management systems
- Design and refine web pages, layouts, forms, navigation elements, and user interface components to improve usability and user experience
- Collaborate with program teams, instructional designers, business analysts, QA specialists, and developers to translate user needs into functional web enhancements
- Support updates and improvements to web-based training portals, LMS interfaces, course access workflows, registration pages, reports, and user-facing system features
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues, formatting defects, broken links, display issues, navigation problems, and usability concerns
- Support accessibility improvements and ensure web content and user interfaces align with Section 508 and related accessibility standards
- Assist with testing and validation of web enhancements, releases, user workflows, and interface changes
- Support integration and presentation of digital learning content, course materials, multimedia assets, certificates, assessments, and related training content within web-based platforms
- Participate in user experience reviews, usability feedback analysis, and continuous improvement discussions
- Help create and maintain reusable UI patterns, templates, page structures, and style guidance for consistent web presentation
- Work with technical and QA teams to document defects, validate fixes, and support release readiness
- Maintain documentation for web updates, interface changes, user workflows, and support procedures
- Contribute to improvements that enhance system usability, learner experience, accessibility, maintainability, and operational efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, UX Design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- At least 3 years of experience supporting web development, UI development, UX support, front-end development, or web application maintenance
- Experience developing or maintaining user-facing web pages, interfaces, forms, layouts, or application features
- Working knowledge of front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or comparable web development frameworks
- Understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, navigation design, visual consistency, and responsive web design
- Experience supporting web-based applications, learning management systems, content management systems, training portals, or other enterprise platforms
- Familiarity with Section 508, WCAG, or similar digital accessibility standards
- Experience troubleshooting front-end defects, formatting issues, browser-related issues, and user interface problems
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and support implementation
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal, healthcare, training, education, or learning management programs
- Experience supporting LMS workflows such as user registration, course access, assessments, certificates, transcripts, reporting, or training plans
- Experience conducting or supporting usability reviews, accessibility reviews, or user acceptance testing
- Familiarity with digital learning content, SCORM/xAPI concepts, course publishing, or web-based training delivery
- Experience supporting responsive design, accessible forms, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, alt text, and color contrast improvements
- Familiarity with issue tracking, Agile workflows, release coordination, or collaborative development environments
- Experience working with graphic, multimedia, or instructional design teams to integrate visual and learning assets into web-based platforms
