Software Engineer II, Back-end (Card Mgmt & Transaction Processing)

The Affirm Card is one of the company's fastest-growing products and an increasingly significant contributor to overall platform GMV. Our team builds and operates the systems behind every card issued at Affirm and every transaction processed across Affirm's card products, including the Affirm Card and one-time virtual cards. We own the core issuing and processing infrastructure powering authorization, transaction processing, account and card lifecycle management, tokenization, and platform security.

As Affirm continues to expand its card offerings, the scale, complexity, and reliability requirements of our systems continue to grow. You will work on systems that sit directly on the critical path of every card transaction, collaborating closely with product and cross-functional partner teams. What You'll Do

• With the support of your team's tech lead and manager, you will break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of your work
• You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs
• You will support the operations and availability of your team's artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting "keep the lights on" & on-call efforts.
