Senior PACS and Imaging Systems Engineer

Expert Radiology | Full-time direct hire | Remote within the United States or Puerto Rico

Annual base salary: USD 125,000-150,000, depending on experience.

About the role

Help support and improve daily teleradiology operations as a senior technical individual contributor reporting to our Head of IT. You will work alongside our PACS and IT team, lead client and vendor discussions, and own support and onboarding work through verified resolution. This is a hands-on role with mentoring responsibilities, not a people-management position.

What you'll do

Administer and troubleshoot RamSoft PowerReader and PowerServer, including configurations, routing, DICOM scripts, worklists, study statuses, templates, and report delivery.

Diagnose missing, duplicate or misrouted studies and resolve workflow issues using audit trails, DICOM headers, messages and logs. Build and support Mirth Connect/HL7 order and result interfaces, including mapping, JavaScript transformations, acknowledgments and delivery troubleshooting. Lead technical client onboarding from requirements and connectivity through testing, initial production verification and operational handoff. Build tested, documented automation, maintain runbooks and change controls, and mentor colleagues through troubleshooting and knowledge transfer. What you'll bring Expert hands-on RamSoft PowerReader/PowerServer administration and complex production support. Expert Mirth Connect and HL7 skills, including channel development, JavaScript, transformations and interface troubleshooting. Advanced PACS administration and strong DICOM knowledge. Automation skills using JavaScript, Python, PowerShell or comparable tools. Working knowledge of VPN/IPsec, TCP/IP, firewalls, DNS and TLS, plus SQL diagnostic skills. Our specific VPN configuration can be taught. Clear spoken and written English, strong client communication, sound judgment and reliable follow-through. Helpful experience Compass, ZettaHealth, teleradiology/multi-site imaging, Azure, Windows Server, infrastructure as code, REST APIs, and approved use of Claude/ChatGPT with independent testing and protection of patient/confidential data. Training on our Compass and ZettaHealth implementations is available. Schedule and success Preferred hours: 8am-5pm Central with lunch; hours may vary. Occasional after-hours support, no formal on-call rotation.
