Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer will support a Federal Cloud Services program by designing, integrating, securing, and maintaining hybrid network environments spanning on-premises infrastructure and public cloud platforms. The role will focus on network architecture, Fortinet firewall administration, connectivity, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, security, and integration of traditional enterprise networking with cloud-native services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy network architectures integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud environments.
• Ensure secure, reliable, and seamless connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls, including security policies, access controls, and network segmentation.
• Maintain and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and other enterprise network infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain network security controls in accordance with organizational requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Conduct network security reviews, assessments, and configuration audits.
• Deploy and maintain monitoring solutions to track network availability, performance, utilization, and potential issues.
• Use software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex network performance and connectivity problems.
• Lead troubleshooting and response efforts for network incidents and outages.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring network issues.
• Integrate existing enterprise networking solutions with cloud-native networking services and architectures.
• Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure network solutions meet technical and operational requirements.
