Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Snowflake DBA to join our Data Engineering team. This role is integral to the success of our next-generation data warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Snowflake's technology, with a proven track record of optimizing query performance, throughput, and costs to support business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the administration and management of our Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring its optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Design, implement, and monitor data management policies and procedures to ensure data security, accessibility, and availability.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions to meet these needs efficiently.
  • Conduct regular performance analysis of Snowflake usage & tuning to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage Snowflake security including roles, permissions, and access controls to protect sensitive data.
  • Lead data migration projects, including schema definitions, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Keep abreast of new Snowflake features and technologies, advocating for and implementing upgrades and enhancements as appropriate.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs and other team members.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database architectures, configurations, and processes.

What you’ll bring

* Strong understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. * Expertise in SQL and experience with ETL tools and techniques. * Proficiency in data modeling and data architecture. * Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and how they integrate with Snowflake. AWS expertise is preferred. * Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to maintaining high-quality data standards. * Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. *
