About the Role

We’re looking for a remote, mid-level Software Development Engineer who can work across the full stack in web applications to join our distributed Ecommerce Software Engineering team. In this role, you will help build, maintain, and evolve web applications with a strong emphasis on Laravel. This role goes beyond backend work—you’ll be involved across the stack, contributing to APIs, databases, and user-facing features.

You’ll collaborate closely with other developers to deliver scalable, well-structured solutions while helping modernize and improve existing systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using PHP, primarily with Laravel * Support and enhance existing applications built with CodeIgniter * Design, optimize, and maintain MySQL databases * Develop frontend features using JavaScript and Vue.js * Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into clean, usable interfaces * Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the stack * Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in both frontend and backend code * Write and maintain unit tests and feature tests (Laravel/PHPUnit) * Improve code quality through test coverage, refactoring, and best practices * Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions * Work with production environments and assist with deployments and configuration * Work closely with QA to ensure a high standard of quality is met
