Associate Attorney for Federal litigation - remote or hybrid - any bar admission
An established law firm in Tidewater, Virginia is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to handle federal administrative claims. This practice operates under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA).
Because this is a federal administrative law practice, we welcome applicants nationwide licensed in any U.S. jurisdiction. We fully support remote work arrangements, as well as hybrid or on-site arrangements at our Newport News main office. Primary Responsibilities:
- Litigate federal administrative claims from inception through resolution. - Prepare cases for formal federal administrative proceedings.
-Represent clients and conduct hearings before Administrative Law Judges (ALJs).
- Draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda regarding federal acts.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active State Bar license in good standing (Any U.S. state).
- Experience with LHWCA, DBA, or the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) is preferred, but not required—we will train the right candidate.
- Strong oral advocacy, legal research, and writing skills.
