Android Software Engineer

Overview

Build and improve Android mobile applications as an Android Software Engineer. You’ll contribute across the software development life cycle (SDLC), from understanding user needs and shaping the user experience (UX) to implementation, testing, and publishing Android applications. Work with product and engineering partners to deliver reliable, responsive mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications using Java or Kotlin, the Android software development kit (SDK), and Gradle.
• Apply object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and model-view-controller (MVC) concepts; build clear user interfaces (UI) with performance tuning and multithreading where appropriate.
• Integrate back-end services through representational state transfer (REST) and RESTful APIs, web services, and software development kits (SDKs); work with JavaScript, JSON, and XML.
• Write unit tests and test automation, debug issues, and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.
• Collaborate in Agile software development, using developer tools and version control to plan, review, and ship application updates.

Requirements

• Experience in Android development, mobile product development, application development, or software engineering; familiarity with Agile practices and the SDLC.
• Knowledge of Android, Java or Kotlin, Android SDK, Gradle, APIs, UI, multithreading, debugging, and unit testing.
• Preferred: experience with CI/CD, Git or GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, SVN, Xamarin,.NET, C#, Visual Studio, Node.js, Angular, Python, C, C++, or Objective-C and Swift for iOS development.
• Familiarity with SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, computer networking, Linux, HTML, CSS, JSP, SOAP, and publishing mobile applications is a plus.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
